I talk a lot. And I have opinions about a broad range of things. I may not always be right but I will always have something to say.
I have been incredibly blessed to be able to do what I do. But I need more. A few minutes covering a segment on a national station doesn’t cover things in as much depth as I would like. And I suspect many of you feel the same.
So I have decided to launch my Two Cents. Two Cents will feature my podcast and various articles where I give my views on various topics, both serious and fun. I will occasionally interview people to get their educated perspectives on things. But above all, this platform is my opportunity to be as unfiltered and as honest as possible.
Why Substack?
Simply put, it’s not Youtube.
I didn’t want to be beholden to a ridiculous algorithm that will incentivize me to produce the same cookie-cutter content for clickbait and views. I wanted to be in a space where the people who support me would never have to question whether I’m just chasing clout for more money. I work for you, but this is me. Unapologetic and authentic.
I also love the fact that Substack doesn’t have the crazy censorship rules that other big tech platforms have. I genuinely believe that if we want to fight big tech censorship then the onus is on us to patronise platforms and creators that want to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.
About me
I am a Ghanaian-British writer, broadcaster and professional opinion haver. I moved to the UK when I was 14 from Ghana, and I often say that I am so grateful my parents made that decision for me.
Moving here allowed me to flourish and freely pursue my passions. I am known for my blunt and succinct commentary on various issues. But truth be told, my mission is far bigger than that. I have always loved politics, but I take a keener interest in how people live their lives and how I can help people live more fulfilling lives. As a self-professed motivational speaker, my father has definitely rubbed off on me.
I first became known for my work with the conservative students’ grassroots organisation, Turning Point UK. I had the honour of interviewing many prominent voices in politics, from Douglas Murray to Edwina Currie and even Nigel Farage!
From there, I came on the radar of various media outlets like Sky News and Talk TV. During the madness of the Black Lives Matter era and subsequently the Covid-19 pandemic, I became more and more vocal. I simply couldn't stay quiet. I saw the hysteria that was sweeping vast swathes of the population and it genuinely worried me. I had something to say, and people were ready to listen. That is how I got to where I am today.
I do many things. I am a writer, a broadcaster, a pole dancer, an above-average kizomba dancer, a Christian, a daughter, and a sister. But above all, I am a work in progress.
I often worry about the state of the world. But I am also a relentless optimist. I always try to find a way to put a smile on people’s faces. So if you want a small dose of sunshine every time I post, please consider subscribing.
I just recently heard of you for the first time when listening to Triggernometry. You are a refreshing voice. I also love that you pole dance. It’s fun innit?! I look forward to reading your bits. 😀☮️
